The Royal Academy celebrates its 5th International Congress with great success in Budapest

The Royal European Academy of Doctors-Barcelona 1914 (RAED) held between the past 22 and 25 September its 5th International Congress, which took place in Budapest under the title “The Europe of citizens versus the Europe of states. The challenges of 21st century for science”. The meeting brought together fifty teachers and professors from the Széchenyi University and the Academy of Sciences of Hungary. Participants attended about twenty conferences that followed the usual format of the Royal Academy, limited to 15 minutes and of an informative nature, delivered in Spanish, English and Hungarian. The event had the collaboration of the Central Bank of Hungary and was developed in the facilities that the university has in the Castle of Wisdom of Buda, the mountainous district of the capital of Hungary.

After a solemn inauguration by the vicepresident of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Gyorgy Bokor, and the president of the Royal European Academy of Doctors, Alfredo Rocafort, the academician and vicepresident of the RAED Xabier Añoveros opened the sessions with a conference on the trip of Magellan and Elcano circumscribing in 1522 the first round the world by boat. Next, the full academician Joan Francesc Corona also presented the story of the book and the movie “The English Patient”, that of a prominent Hungarian car and airplane pilot who became named count. On the local side, Ramhap Szabolcs presented the Lean Service Creation, a project that allows the introduction of process slimming technologies used by production engineers into the world of university teaching; Bokor presented the projects that are being developed in Hungary for the automobile industry in order to provide self-directed vehicles to the whole world and the vicerector Karoly Buszoni described the methodologies used in the country to correctly design the new jobs.

Dory Tibor, who lived more than ten years in Seville, presented in a perfect Spanish his participation in the Mobilis model to improve lifelong learning processes. Along the same lines, Marta Szombathelyi gave a presentation on the different generations of students and their skills with digital technologies and the renowned clinical psychologist Laura Rojas Marcos presented a study on empathy, self-knowledge and self-care as barriers to prevent psychological diseases. Sonnia Rivas-Caballero, a specialist in the study of women who have received the Nobel prize, also participated in the congress. Belén Fernández, director of communication of the Hospital October 12 in Madrid, introduced the figure of ambassador Ángel Sanz Briz as savior of thousands of Hungarian jews during World War II and the full academician Joaquín Callabed presented the biological, psychological and social axes for treat relationships with teenagers. The researcher Christian Griñán closed the sessions of that first day. His contributions to explain the reasons that lead to non-pathological aging highlighted the relevance of epigenetics.

On the second day, José Ramón Calvo, president of the Institute of International Cooperation of the RAED, opened a tribute to two great Hungarian scientists: Ignaz Semmelweiss, creator of the antiseptic procedures, and the Nobel prize in Physiology or Medicine Albert Szent-Györgyi. Alejandro Pursals showed how the processes of displacement of the Venezuelan population have their origin in a very cruel embargo on the weakest, the full academician Maria Àngels Calvo explained the results of her research with Leonardo Arosemena on the presence of germs in the products foodstuffs that can be found in restaurants, supermarkets and other points of sale and Cecilia Kindelán presented her research on Networking.

The full academician José María Bové presented for the first time the new trends in joint auditing. British law can cause large companies to pass joint audits by two firms. Thus, greater protection of the auditor is sought from possible links with the property of the audited companies. The also full academician Javier Garrido, meanwhile, projected his studies on ethics in decision-making and the full academician Jordi Martí discussed the non-financial information of the company and made a complete summary of all the papers presented.

On behalf of the Hungarian delegation, Levente Kovács delivered his speech on the new loans for the new economic situation, Zoltán Dubeczi described with a historical series the presence of foreign students in Hungary and closed the cycle of presentations Barnabás Kovács, consul of Hungary in Barcelona, ​​with an original work on the decisions made by foreign students.

Finally, Alfredo Rocafort closed the session of presentations and summoned the assistants to a reception offered by the minister of Innovation and Technology on the banks of the Danube. Kovács imposed the insignia of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences on Rocafort himself and José Ramón Calvo and the president of the Royal European Academy of Doctors announced the presentation for the first quarter of 2020 of the diplomat as a new member of the RAED as a corresponding academician.
