Albert Biete, full academician of the Royal European Academy of Doctors-Barcelona 1914 (RAED) and head of the Radiation Oncology Service of the Clinical Institute of Hematology and Oncology of Barcelona, ​​invites the academicians and friends of the RAED interested in the prevention of cancer to participate in the 6th Oncology Conference organized by the Terrassa Sanitary Consortium and the Sports Medicine Unit of the High Performance Center of Sant Cugat under the title “Physical activity, diet and cancer” on 29 and 30 September. Biete is grateful for the great acceptance of his work “Avances en el conocimiento de la relación entre el cáncer y los estilos de vida” (Advances in the knowledge of the relationship between cancer and lifestyles), which he presented at the III International Act of the RAED.

The sessions begin on Friday 29 with the presentation of the Predicop Study (prevention of relapses through exercise, diet and weight control in patients with breast cancer) and are completed with two round tables: “Physical activity as prevention and cancer treatment”,with the participation of the specialist in sports medicine Fernando Herrero and the physiotherapist Maria Fornieles, and “Cancer, physical activity and diet”, with the presence of sports medicine specialist Maria Antonia Lizárraga and a recognized local restaurateur. At half-day, the specialist of the Oncology Service of the Terrassa Sanitary Consortium Jordi Alfaro will give the conference “Fiber, microbiota and cancer”. The opening and closing of the sessions will be attended by Alfredo García, managing director of the Terrassa Sanitary Consortium; Àngels Arcusa, head of its Oncology Service, and Guillermo Pérez, head of the Sports Medicine Unit of the High Performance Center.

The sessions will be held at the Hospital de Terrassa and registrations are free at www.cst.cat. On Saturday 30, starting at 10.00, the V Popular March will be held, with a journey of 8 kilometers.
