Josep Pla Carrera, supernumerary academician of the Royal European Academy of Doctors-Barcelona 1914 (RAED), will present next Monday, January 23, the first two volumes of his ambitious history of mathematics: “Història de la Matemàtica (Egipte, Mesopotàmia i Grècia I)” (History of Mathematics: Egypt, Mesopotamia and Greece I). The event will be held at the Nicolau d’Olwer Hall of the Institute of Catalan Studies (IEC) (c/del Carme, 47, Barcelona), from 19.00 h.Organized by the Catalan Society of Mathematics, attached to the IEC, will be present Joan Antoni Solans, president of its Science and Technology section, and Pilar Bayer, full academician of the RAED and member of the IEC.
