The theologian and researcher Josep Ignasi Saranyana, doctor of theology and philosophy, will enter at the Royal Academy of Doctors (RAD) as full academician during a solemn session to be held in Barcelona on 28 January. The recipient will read the speech “Filosofia i Teologia a Incerta Glòria. Joan Sales repensa mig segle de cultura catalana”. The academician Francesc Torralba will respond on behalf of the RAD.

Born in Barcelona in 1941, Saranyana devoted himself body and soul to teaching in the Faculty of Theology of the University of Navarra and highlights in research for his studies in philosophy and theology in the Late Middle Ages and Amrerican theology in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, fields on which his extensive bibliography is a mandatory reference. He is a member of the Pontifical Committee of Historical Sciences, corresponding academic of the Royal Academy of History of Spain and five other international academies.
