The General Board of the Royal European Academy of Doctors-Barcelona 1914 (RAED), meeting on 17 January, appointed eight new full academicians, two of whom were non-Spanish, and a new corresponding academician. The main governing body of the RAED also approved all the statutory changes proposed by the Governing Board to influence its commitment to the dissemination of academic activities and their internationalization.

The new elected full academicians are Miguel Ángel Ariño, doctor in Mathematical Sciences from the University of Barcelona and professor of Decision Making at IESE; José Ramón Calvo, doctor in Medicine from the University of Córdoba and Professor of Health Education at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria; Montserrat Casanovas, doctor in Economic and Business Sciences from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and Professor of Business Organization and Management at the University of Barcelona; Francisco Javier Gil Mur, doctor in Chemical Sciences from the University of Barcelona and professor at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia; Juan Trias de Bes, doctor architect by the Technical School of Architecture of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia and renowned urbanist, and Daniel Turbón, doctor in Philosophy and Letters by the University of Barcelona and professor in the same university of Physical Anthropology.

They are joined by European full elected academicians Carlo Maria Gallucci, doctor in Economics and Trade from the University of Messina (Italy), doctor in Economics and Business from Pontificia Comillas University and professor at the Department of Marketing Management at ESADE, and Salvatore Sica, doctor in Private and Civil Law from the University of Naples (Italy) and professor at the Faculty of Jurisprudence of the University of Salerno (Italy). The new elected corresponding academician is Joan Iglesias Capellas, doctor in Law from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, ​​who works in legal and tax matters as a partner in the audit and consulting firm Crowe Horwarth.
