Josep Sánchez Llibre, president of Foment del Treball Nacional, vice-president of the Spanish Confederation of Business Organisations, former member of the Parliament of Catalonia and of the Congress of Deputies, former senator and honorary academician of the Royal European Academy of Doctors (RAED), signed on 16 June, as representative of the main Catalan employers’ organisation, the National Pact for Industry in Catalonia 2026-2030 together with the Government of Catalonia and the main Catalan social and economic stakeholders. The agreement sets the roadmap for Catalan industrial policy over the coming years and provides for investment of up to 5,000 million euros by 2030.

The pact includes 190 measures aimed at driving the transformation of Catalan industry, strengthening its competitiveness and moving towards a more innovative, sustainable and resilient productive model. This new stage continues previous industrial pacts and consolidates industry as one of the major strategic pillars for Catalonia’s economic future. For the president of Foment, industry is an essential factor in increasing productivity, generating quality employment, improving wages and reinforcing the prosperity of society as a whole. In this regard, Sánchez Llibre stressed that, if properly implemented, the pact will help increase the productivity of Catalan industry and, consequently, the well-being of Catalonia.

The National Pact for Industry 2026-2030 is structured around areas such as sustainability and energy, quality employment, innovation and competitiveness, infrastructures and industrial land, together with a cross-cutting axis. It also incorporates objectives linked to productivity, decarbonisation and the resilience of the industrial fabric in the face of new global challenges. With this signature, Foment reaffirms its commitment to a more competitive, modern Catalan industry, ready to lead the economic transformation of the coming years.
