The Governing Board of the Royal European Academy of Doctors-Barcelona 1914 (RAED), on behalf of all its members, joins to mourning the loss of his emeritus academician Joaquín Barraquer. RAED will bid farewell to his illustrious colleague with a tribute to be announced duly.

Incessant contributor to academic work since joining as full academician in 1987, Barraquer died last August 26 in Barcelona leaving a legacy his great advances in eye surgery.
