The Royal Academy will visit Quito, Guayaquil and the Galapagos Islands in 2020, where it will celebrate its 4th International Act
The Royal European Academy of Doctors-Barcelona 1914 (RAED) has reached an agreement with the National Geographic society to organize in 2020 a scientific expedition that, in turn, will constitute the 4th International Act and Congress of Interdisciplinary Research of the RAED. The expedition already has the collaboration of the Government of Ecuador, the Charles Darwin Foundation and other international academic institutions and is under the direct supervision of the former president of Ecuador and honorary academician of the Royal Academy Rosalía Arteaga.
In the absence of a specific program, the forecast is for the expedition members to visit Ecuador, with stays in Quito and Guayaquil, where two academic events will be held in collaboration with two prestigious universities in the country in which several Nobel prize winners and honorary academics will participate. Much of the scientific activity will also be carried out in the archipelago of the Galapagos Islands with a group of naturalist and scientific experts. During the visit a photographer from the magazine “National Geographic” will participate, as well as one of his television teams, who will make a special documentary about this academic expedition.
The trip to the islands will be carried out aboard the “National Geographic Endeavor II”, an expedition boat equipped to experience the wildlife of this archipelago that also allows you to enjoy the comforts of a yacht capable of accommodating 95 passengers and that has 65 crew. Its captain is a distinguished Ecuadorian intellectual and marine who is actively participating in the design of this expedition. Among its services, the boat has an excellent cuisine.
Thanks to the agreements and the mediation of Rosalía Arteaga, the expedition members will be able to travel with a discount of more than 50% with respect to the usual price at which the similar tourist packages are sold. The reservation of the trip and the first payment of the deposit must be made before the end of this year 2018. Those interested in participating must communicate it before October 30 to the email firstname.lastname@example.org.
