The academician and member of the Governing Board of the RAED is elected on the lists of the PSC to the Upper House
Santiago Castellà, director of the Chair Tarragona Smart Mediterranean City of the Rovira i Virgili University, full academician and member of the Governing Board of the Royal European Academy of Doctors-Barcelona 1914 (RAED) and general secretary of the Pro-RAED Foundation, has been elected senator for the district of Tarragona in the lists of the Party of the Socialists of Catalonia (PSC-PSOE).
Castellà holds a law degree from the University of Barcelona, a degree in Political Science from the Spanish National University of Distance Education and a master’s degree in Security, Peace and Defense from the General University Institute Gutiérrez Mellado. Doctor in Public International Law from the University of Barcelona, for 25 years he has been a professor at the Public Law Department of the Rovira y Virgili University, where he has also been dean of the Faculty of Legal Sciences, Vicechancellor of External and International Relations, director of the Master of Environmental Law, the Master in Global Management of Immigration, the Master in International Development Cooperation and the Master in International Criminal Justice.
He currently combines his responsibility as director of the Chair Tarragona Smart Mediterranean City with the direction of the Master of Smart City Managenent of Zigurat-University of Barcelona. He began in the political life of the hand of Adolfo Suárez as general secretary of the Youth of the Democratic and Social Center, to join a few years ago in the project of the Socialists of Catalonia. He is patron of the Francesc Ferrer Guàrdia Foundation, of the Trencadís Foundation for Modernism in Tarragona and promoter of the Carme Chacón Foundation.
