The Royal Academy publishes the number 17 of Tribuna Plural, which includes all the activity of the third quarter of 2017

The Royal European Academy of Doctors-Barcelona 1914 (RAED) has published the number 17 of Tribuna Plural, its scientific journal, which includes all the activity developed by the institution throughout the third quarter of 2017, corresponding to the start of the academic year 2017-2018. The publication contains an extensive summary of the debates “Centenario de un Premio Nobel: Camilo José Cela” (Centennial of a Nobel prize: Camilo José Cela), directed by the full academician and vice-president of the RAED Xabier Añoveros, and “Las nociones del infinito” (Notions of the Infinite), led by the also full academician Daniel Turbón, in both cases with all its papers.

Portada revista Tribuna PluralThis delivery of Tribuna Plural also includes the articles “Une nouvelle vision pour l’Europe: engagement citoyen et volonté humaniste”, by the corresponding academician Ina Piperaki; “Homenaje a la Universidad de Salamanca en sus 800 años de existencia (1218-2018)” (Tribute to the University of Salamanca in its 800 years of existence (1218-2018)), by the academician Ángel Aguirre; “Aproximación al concepto de minoría para su protección jurídica internacional: criterios de clasificación” (Approach to the concept of minority for its international legal protection: classification criteria), by the also academician Santiago Castellà; “Ortotoxicidad medicamentosa” (Drug orthoxicity), written by the full academicians Pedro Clarós and Maria Àngels Calvo together with the professor of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Technology of the University of Barcelona Ana María Carmona; “Influencia de las hormonas sexuales en la voz de las cantantes de ópera” (Influence of sex hormones on the voice of opera singers), by the full academicians Pedro Clarós and Francisco López Muñoz; “Nanotecnología frente al cáncer” (Nanotechnology against cancer), by the full academician Ferran Guedea and the researcher Inés Guix, and “El derecho y la legislación proactiva: nuevas perspectivas en la ciencia jurídica” (The law and proactive legislation: new perspectives in legal science), by the academician Jaime Rodrigo de Larrucea. Most of these works have been exposed in academic sessions held throughout this period.

The magazine also collects the income of academics that occurred in those last four months of 2017 with their corresponding speeches and answers. This is Joan Iglesias, who entered as a corresponding academician on November 9; Borja Corcóstegui, full academician since September 14; cardinal Lluís Martínez Sistach, whose admission as honorary academician occurred on December 12; Luis Pons, who entered as correspondent on December 19; Jesús Gerardo Sotomayor, also a corresponding academician since October 30, and Juan Trias de Bes, who read his admission speech as a full academician on September 14.

The magazine concludes with an extensive personal interview with the full academician Ramon Cugat, renowned surgeon specialist in sports injuries that explains his day to day and his relationship with the Royal Academy.
