Montserrat Guillén, full academician of the Royal European Academy of Doctors-Barcelona 1914 (RAED), has been recognized with the SCOR prize, awarded by this well-known insurer, for a work on telematics in vehicle insurance. The study proposes an innovative type of insurance that is paid based on the kilometers traveled to accurately establish the accident risk, rather than for a specific period, the criterion that is currently used.
Guillén received the award during an event held in Madrid on 16 November with the participation of the main representatives of the Spanish insurance sector. The award has an international character and is called in several European countries. It was delivered by the president of the Institute of Spanish Actuaries, Gregorio Gil de Rozas, and the director general of SCOR Global, Diego Aragón.
