Teresa Freixes, a professor of Constitutional Law at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and full academician of the Royal European Academy of Doctors-Barcelona 1914 (RAED), participated on Monday, April 24, at a conference organized in the European Parliament by the deputy Enrique Calvet.
Freixes has addressed the situation of the principle of legal certainty of the Rule of Law starting from the analysis of the American system of “chekcs and balances”, in which the judges have the last word even in front of executive orders of the president himself. In this sense, the academician has compared the situation of Poland and Spain and has reflected on the danger to democracy of disobedience from public institutions to judicial decisions.
