The Royal European Academy of Doctors recognizes the best theses presented by students of the Community of Institutions of Higher Education of La Laguna
The Royal European Academy of Doctors-Barcelona 1914 (RAED) has granted within the framework of the Research Conference of the Community of Higher Education Institutions of La Laguna (Cieslag), which was held in Mexico between the past 10 and 12 October, in compliance with the collaboration agreement signed three years ago, its award for the best doctoral theses presented by doctoral students from the centres associated with this community.
The prize for the best doctoral thesis, ex aequo, has corresponded to the following two doctoral theses:
- “Asociación de los polimorfismos -308 G/A del gen TNF-a, Pro12Ala del gen PPAR-gama y Trp64arg del gen ADRβ3 con el desarrollo del perfil lipídico aterogénico en sujetos VIH+ con TAR” (Association of polymorphisms -308 G/A of the TNF-a gene, Pro12Ala of the PPAR-gama and Trp64arg of the ADRβ3 gene with the development of the atherogenic lipid profile in HIV+ subjects with ART), by the PhD student Ramón Román Gámez, from the area of Medicine and Health Sciences
- “La generación Z: Formas generales de comportamiento, intereses, opiniones y actitudes ante la vida” (Generation Z: General forms of behaviour, interests, opinions and attitudes towards life), by the PhD student Tomás Francisco del Bosque, from the area of Humanities and Behavioural Sciences.
Also, the jury has granted two access to the following doctoral theses: “Gestión integral de mantenimiento basado en el modo de falla de los procesos críticos y la familia de puestos estratégicos que mejora los rendimientos en la industria textil en México” (Comprehensive maintenance management based on the failure mode of critical processes and the family of strategic positions that improves performance in the textile industry in Mexico), by Joel Vaquera, from the area of Social Sciences, Economics and Administration, and “Medición del capital intelectual: propuesta de un modelo de indicadores en instituciones de educación superior del subsistema de universidades tecnológicas y politécnicas” (Measurement of intellectual capital: proposal of a model of indicators in higher education institutions of the subsystem of technological and polytechnic universities), by Ramón Heredia, also from the area of Social Sciences, Economics and Administration.
This is the second edition of the doctoral thesis competition awarded by the Royal Academy among the members of the Cieslag thanks to a collaboration program that has the support of the Department of Justice of the Catalan Government and the La Caixa Banking Foundation. In the first edition it acknowledged the work “Degradación ambiental del agua subterránea en el entorno de la gestión gubernamental de los recursos hídricos” (Environmental degradation of groundwater in the environment of government management of water resources), by José Soto Balderas.
