The Italian theologian Angelo di Berardino, known for his work in patristic, said during admission as full academician of the Royal European Academy of Doctors-Barcelona 1914 (RAED) on 13 October that Christianity spread in Europe and in Middle East in the first centuries of our era through the military and merchants, who considered the “first missionaries”. “Christianity was born in the northern towns of Palestine and spread throughout the Roman Empire, but also in the East. It was an eminently urban phenomenon that spread large cities through the ports”.
