The Institute of Catalan Studies anticipates the RAED its new “Ortografia Catalana”

The Institute of Catalan Studies has delivered to the Royal European Academy of Doctors-Barcelona 1914 (RAED) its “Ortografia Catalana” (Catalan Orthography), which sees the light after its last “Gramàtica de la Llengua Catalana” (Grammar of the Catalan Language), presented last November.

The work is the fruit of a long reflection between philologists and historians of the language that maintains the commitment to simplify and to update the norms that established Pompeu Fabra at the beginning of the last century and it joins to other publications of reference like the “Diccionari de la Llengua Catalana” (Dictionary of the Catalan Language). The work will be in bookstores throughout this month of June.
