José Juan Pintó, emeritus academician of the Royal European Academy of Doctors-Barcelona 1914 (RAED), and Ana María Gil, supernumerary member of the RAED, have been appointed, respectively, vice-president and librarian of the Spanish Royal Academy of Economics and Financial Sciences (RACEF), chaired by Jaime Gil. The two academicians of both institutions renew the Governing Board of the RACEF.
Former president of La Caixa, La Caixa Banking Foundation and CaixaBank, Pintó has a long professional and academic career that earned the award of the Cross of Saint Georges, the highest distinction of the Catalan Government, among other honours. Lawyer of formation, he follows to the front of its own office. Gil, on the other hand, is a professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Barcelona and also directs the Observatory of Economic-Financial Research of the RACEF, which has carried out important studies on the economy of countries such as Azerbaijan or Ukraine.
The Governing Board of the RAED hopes that this renewal will strengthen the work of RACEF in its tireless work for the development of economic and financial studies.
