Rosalía Arteaga, former president of Ecuador and honorary academician of the Royal European Academy of Doctors-Barcelona 1914 (RAED), has been awarded the José Peralta medal, which the Provincial Council of Azuay (Ecuador) grants to its citizens who have contributed decisively to cultural or scientific progress.
Doctor in Jurisprudence and Anthropology, Arteaga adds to her dedication to politics a vast trajectory as an essayist and poet who has been internationally recognized.
