An interdisciplinary approach, the internationalization of knowledge and calculation, essential to address any complex system. Those are the keys to the future of research, technological development and innovation (R+D+i), an essential concept in the current company, to Eugenio Oñate, president of the Section of Technological Sciences of the Royal European Academy of Doctors-Barcelona 1914 (RAED) and founder of the prestigious CIMNE center, which employs 230 scientists in their centers in the USA, Spain, Latin America and Asia.
Doctor of Engineering in Civil and Ports, Oñate reviewed in an interview published in the number 8 of Tribuna Plural, the journal of the RAED, its expertise in numerical methods and the birth of CIMNE almost 30 years ago as a partnership between the Polytechnic University of Catalonia and the Catalan Generalitat. “Its success has been know to combine harmoniously research on new numerical methods to solve problems of practical interest in many fields of engineering, with the transfer to industry-based software developed by the center products”, he explains.
Oñate highlights the fundamental value of R+D+i for any company that wants to compete successfully developing, using or commercializing innovative products and processes with a global reach.
