Mariàngela Vilallonga, full academician elected of the Royal European Academy of Doctors-Barcelona 1914 (RAED), participates in the cycle “Del poema a la cançó” (From the poem to the song), organized by the Municipal School of Humanities of Girona with the collaboration of the Chair Literary Heritage Maria Àngels Anglada-Carles Fages de Climent and the Chair of Contemporary Poetry Joan Vinyoli, both from the University of Girona. Vilallonga took part on May 9 in the session “Fages de Climent cantat” (Fages de Climent sung), that is celebrated in the Cultural Center La Mercè in Girona.
“Del poema a la cançó” is a cycle about poetry and music, about how contemporary musicians interpret contemporary Catalan poetry. With the help of specialists in his work, attendees can discover the literary universes of universal Catalan authors such as Jacint Verdaguer, Josep Carner, Carles Fages de Climent and Joan Vinyoli, as well as delving into the path of the singer-songwriter to approach the work and offer from her his own sung reading. The cycle, of free and free access, is formed by four sessions between specialists in contemporary Catalan poets and singer-songwriters who put music and voice to their verses.
