Teresa Freixes, Professor of Constitutional Law at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and academician of the Royal European Academy of Doctors-Barcelona 1914 (RAED), has presented the book“Repensar la Constitución. Ideas para una reforma de la Constitución de 1978. Reforma y comunicación dialógica. Parte primera” (Rethinking the Spanish Constitution. Ideas for a reform of the Constitution of 1978. Dialogue Reform and Communication. Part One), a book she has written with Juan Carlos Gavara, also professor of Constitutional Law. The event, organized by theCentro Libre Arte y Cultura and Concordia Civic platform, which she founded and presides, was held on monday, March 6 at the Malpaso bookstore in Barcelona. The presentation also had the collaboration of the UAB and the Jean Monnet Chair of European Constitutional Law and the participation of the professor and socialist spokesman in the Constitutional Commission Gregorio Cámara.
“This work is born of the idea of the participation of a series of constitutionalists who, from Catalonia, in collaboration and dialogue with other constitutionalists from the rest of Spain, wants to address a systematic analysis on the evolution of different institutions and constitutional institutions, determining their successes and shortcomings and establishing the perspectives on which to deal with a possible constitutional reform”, Freixes said.
