David López, Dean of the Full-Time MBA program at the Esade Business School and Full Member of the Royal European Academy of Doctors (READ), has been appointed Visiting Researcher at Boston University in recognition of his scientific work in digital marketing, e-commerce, strategy, and digital transformation in business. During the previous academic year, the expert participated in the programs “Resilient Leadership and Business Leadership and Management” at Harvard University, as well as “Unlocking Creative Transformation During AI-Driven Change: Business Strategy” at the MIT Sloan School of Management of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

His academic background and professional experience in both technology and business have led him to actively participate in various multidisciplinary studies and initiatives, successfully addressing the intersection of technology, business strategy, innovation, and project management. “This ongoing collaboration is a source of both professional and personal growth, and a great opportunity to strengthen the bridge between two leading institutions in business education. I am excited to continue contributing to research that generates impact and academic excellence,” the academic stated following this recognition.

López holds a PhD in Digital Strategy from the International University of Catalonia, is an engineer in Electronics and Telecommunications, and holds a Master’s degree in Project Management. He also holds an MBA from Esade and The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University (United States). He has served as a visiting lecturer at the University of Chile, the Catholic University of Córdoba (Argentina), and the University of São Paulo (Brazil). He joined the Academy last October with the inaugural address “Relative Singularity in Marketing: Technology and Humanity in the Age of Artificial Intelligence”, in which he analyzes the concept of singularity and its evolution, as well as the applications of artificial intelligence in the field of marketing.

In the business sphere, the academic has more than twenty years of professional experience in the field of information technologies. He has founded several start-ups and consulting firms and has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Club Marketing Barcelona, a board member of GrausTIC, and Vice-President of the Barcelona Chapter of the Project Management Institute.
