The Royal European Academy of Doctors-Barcelona 1914 (RAED) pays tribute to Camilo José Cela on the occasion of the centenary of his birth with an academic session that will be attended by some of the most renowned specialists in the work of the Nobel prize for Literature. The session will be held on November 27, at 7:30 p.m., in the Fomento headquarters (Via Laietana, 32, Barcelona) under the title “Centenario de un premio Nobel: Camilo José Cela” (Centennial of a Nobel prize: Camilo José Cela). The session is part of the cycle “Personajes de la Historia” (Characters of History) celebrated by RAED and will be the fourth of the year.
The event will be attended by Julio Pérez Cela, doctor in Engineering and nephew of the honoree; Adolfo Sotelo, professor of History of Spanish Literature at the University of Barcelona specialized in the work of Cela, and Marta Cristina Carbonell, professor of History of Modern and Contemporary Spanish Literature at the University of Barcelona and also an expert in the work of the Nobel. The session will be moderated by Xabier Añoveros, full academician and vice-president of the RAED.
