Laureano Molins, head of Thoracic Surgery at Clinic Hospital of Barcelona and full academician of the Royal European Academy of Doctors-Barcelona 1914 (RAED), has assumed the position of new president of the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC)-Catalonia Against Cancer of Barcelona in substitution of Juli de Miquel, who held the position since 2012. De Miquel will continue in his position as Spanish vice-president of the AECC.
Laureano Molins had already been linked to the provincial seat of Barcelona for a long period as a member and had already participated in the development and implementation of the new stage of the entity. In this regard, it highlights its role in the launch of new services and the inauguration of the AECC Active Space in Barcelona.
The academician of the RAED is a prestigious medical professional of international recognition. Doctor in Medicine and Surgery from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and postdoctoral in Thoracic Surgery by the Mayo Clinic, he is also a member of the European Board of Cardiothoracic Surgery, the European Society of Thoracic Surgeons and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons. Molins entered at Royal Academy in early 2017, which merited the personal congratulations of King Juan Carlos I, both to the recipient and the institution.
