The photographer and animal defender Karin Faber, wife of the academy of number of the Royal European Academy of Doctors-Barcelona 1914 (RAED) Enrique Tierno, has donated and dedicated to the Library of the Academy the book “Aquellas aves de Pompeya. Un paseo ornitológico en el año 79 d.C.” (Those birds of Pompeii. Ornithological ride in 79 AD), edited by the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando. The work compares the parietal paintings found in the disappeared city of Pompeii with current photographs of the same birds, captured by the author in positions often almost identical. The text includes classic quotations, mythological or customs and ornithological references that document each of the birds chosen.
