Francisco López Muñoz, full academician of the Royal European Academy of Doctors-Barcelona 1914 (RAED) has presented the book “Melatonin, Neuroprotective Agents and Antidepressant Therapy”, edited by the prestigious publisher Springer International. This work has been directed and coordinated by López Muñoz, professor of Pharmacology at the Faculty of Health and director of the International Doctoral School of the Camilo José Cela University, along with professors Venkataramanujam Srinivasan, director of Sri Sathya Sai Medical Educational and Research Foundation of Tamil Nadu (India); Domenico de Berardis, Professor of Psychiatry at the Department of Neuroscience and Image at Gabriele D’Annunzio University, in Chieti, Italy; Cecilio Álamo, professor of Pharmacology at the University of Alcalá, and Takahiro Kato, professor of the Department of Neuropsychiatry at the School of Medical Sciences at Kyushu University in Fukuoka, Japan.

In this work, of a multidisciplinary and international character, and composed of 51 chapters, 144 authors from 25 countries participated. It is proposed as a reference work both for specialists involved in the treatment of patients with affective disorders, and for scientists linked to the investigation of the mechanisms of action of psychopharmacological agents and psychopathological mechanisms underlying mood disorders.
