Enrique Tierno, full academician of the Royal European Academy of Doctors-Barcelona 1914 (RAED), envisions the future of art and the artist increasingly linked to an Administration that has assumed the role of dealer and social networks as the main channel of artistic diffusion. “From the vision of the artist as a creator often compared to a god we had in the Renaissance, his figure has been degrading. Today, Today, neither the poverty nor the cursed art of Romanticism as a revolutionary motor have any validity. Artist today isn’t enough with the creative spirit and innovation, it is necessary to be located in the global market”.
This was the main conclusion of his speech at the European Congress of Interdisciplinary Research held by the Royal Academy between 15 and 22 July in the framework of its Third International Act, which took place in various Baltic cities. Tierno read the work “Los vaivenes sociales del artista europeo” (The social swings of the European artist).
