Dr. OSCAR MORALES GARCÍA

UNIVERSITY QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduated in Law from the Universidad de Cantabria (1993). He obtained the degree of Doctor of Law in 1998 from the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, with the highest qualification Cum Laude unanimously.
• He has been a Visiting Scholar at the Albert Ludwig Universität (Freiburg, Germany).

TEACHING AND PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY

• He has worked as a professor at the universities of Cantabria, Autónoma de Barcelona, Oberta de Catalunya and Rovira i Virgili de Tarragona, where he has directed doctoral, undergraduate, and master’s degree courses.
• Since 2001 he has been a Visiting Professor at the Università degli Studi di Trento with the course Diritto penale dell’informàtica.
• Adjunct professor at the Universidad Ramon Llull at ESADE, an institution with which he has collaborated since 1999.
• He has delivered hundreds of lectures in Spain and in countries such as Italy, Colombia, and Cuba.
• For nearly five years he was Judge of the Provincial Court of Barcelona.
• Later he joined the firm Uría Menéndez, where he implemented the criminal law practice in the Barcelona office. He was a partner of the firm for 13 years, until January 2022 when, together with Dr. Fermín Morales, he founded the firm Morales Abogados Penalistas.
• For fifteen years he has been recognized by the prestigious directory Chambers & Partners (Europe Edition) as one of the best criminal lawyers in Spain.

PUBLICATIONS

• Author of several books and dozens of legal articles, many of them the result of national and European R&D projects in which he has participated or directed.
• In 2021 he published his first novel: Errores invencibles.

AWARDS AND DISTINCTIONS

• In 2019 he received the Medal of Professional Merit, on the occasion of his incorporation into the Consejo Superior Europeo de Doctores.
