JOSEP LLUÍS I GINOVART (Tortosa 1958). Doctor in Architecture and Full Professor of Intervention in Architectural Heritage (2016) at the School of Architecture of the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya. Architect by the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in 1982, the year he founded the architecture office lluis i ginovart arquitectes with headquarters in Barcelona and Tortosa. His work has been recognized in the Guia de l’Arquitectura Catalana Moderna i Contemporània. Arquitectura Catalana and catalogued as BIPCC under Law 9/1993 of the Catalan Cultural Heritage. He has drafted the master plans Sancta Maria Dertosae, Noviciate of the Teresian Community, Episcopal Palace of Tortosa, and the Catalogue of buildings and urban and rural ensembles of historical, artistic and environmental character of the city and municipality of Tortosa. He served as Magister operis sedis Detrosae (1994–2016).

He was Director of the Department of Architecture at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (2014–2016) and Dean of the School of Architecture at the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (2016–2022). He has led the recognized research groups Architectural Heritage Patri-ARQ (URV), Architectural Heritage Research (UIC) and therefore the European Prize Architectural Heritage Intervention (AHI). Protection and Intervention in Architecture in the United States (2017). He has published in 26 books, among which stand out internationally Scientific Knowledge of Spanish Military Engineers in the Seventeenth Century (2018) and Mathematics and the Art and Science of Building Medieval Cathedrals (2019). He has participated in 32 international congresses, serving in twelve of them as Scientific Committee on Heritage Rehabilitation Technology and Heritage. He has published 68 articles in indexed journals and has been part of the editorial boards of the International Journal of Heritage Architecture, Journal of Architecture Research and Development, Civil Engineering and Architecture, and the International Journal of Mathematics and Systems Science. He has been distinguished with the Gran Creu Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice awarded by Pope Benedict XVI (2012), and with the Gold Medal of the European Forum Cum Laude (2019).
