The Royal Academy will hold its 5th International Event on a river cruise on the Danube next July
The Royal European Academy of Doctors-Barcelona 1914 (RAED) will hold between the next 13 and 20 July its 5th International Event in various cities in Central Europe, after doing it last year in various Mediterranean capitals and two year ago in the most prominent Baltic cities, on both occasions with great success. As then, academicians, their families and anyone who wants to participate in this scientific and recreational experience will embark on a river cruise along the Danube from the Austrian port of Engelhartszell and take the delegation to the different scenarios. During the cruise, the RAED will hold several academic events in which several Nobel prizes will participate and with which the attendees will live for a week.
The delegation will depart by plane from Barcelona to Munich, from where it will also return. From the Bavarian capital it will go to Engelhartszell to board the A-Rosa Donna cruise vessel. The first stop will be Vienna, where after a visit to the city, including Schönbrunn Palace, former summer residence of the Austro-Hungarian emperors, participants will be able to attend a concert with works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Johann and Richard Strauss.
The ship will also dock in the Hungarian city of Esztergom, where participants will be able to visit its cathedral, before going to Budapest, where they will be able to admire the Parliament building, the Opera, Saint Stephen’s Cathedral and the castle. The visit can be completed with a night tour to admire the city’s illuminations, declared as a Unesco World Heritage site. The visit will culminate with a folkloric show.
The cruise will depart for Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, which will also be visited before going to Wachau and Melk, with its important Benedictine abbey. The cruise will return to Engelhartszell, from where the transfer to Munich will take place to take a plane back to Barcelona.
