M. ESTHER SUBIRÁ LOBERA
Esther Subirá Lobera is a Commercial Professor from the School of Higher Mercantile Studies in Barcelona, holds a degree in Economics from the University of Barcelona, and a PhD in Economics and Business from the same university. She is a Full Member of the Real Academia Europea de Doctores and a Corresponding Member for Catalonia of the Academy of Sciences, Engineering, and Humanities of Lanzarote. She has received the Medal for Merit in Service to the Economy from the General Council of Economists of Spain, proposed by the College of Economists of Catalonia, in recognition of her professional career and contributions to the economic field.
She is a Full Professor in Market Research and Techniques at the University School of Economics, an Economist, and an Auditor. She served as the director of the School of Business at the University of Barcelona from 2005 to 2009 when it merged with the Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences, resulting in the current Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Barcelona.
She has developed her teaching career in Economics and Marketing and has worked in companies and financial institutions. She has lectured as a visiting professor at the universities of San Diego and San Diego State in the U.S., doctoral seminars at the Université de Poitiers (France), master’s programs at the Universidade de Pernambuco (Recife) and Cândido Mendes (Vitória do Espírito Santo, Brazil), and completed a postdoctoral stay at University College Dublin (Ireland). She has also delivered lectures at Università di Salerno (Italy), the Tecnológico de Monterrey Institute (Mexico), Hoger Economisch en Administratief Onderwijs in Vlissingen (Netherlands), Technical University of Lodz (Poland), and the United States International University (San Diego, USA), among others.
She coordinated the Doctoral Program in Business Studies at the Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences and participated in the creation and subsequent coordination of the official master’s program in Marketing and Market Research at the University of Barcelona. In collaboration with the Universities of Bournemouth, Fachhoschule Kiel, and Fulda, she has directed, coordinated, and taught in the international postgraduate program “European Business Management.” In the business environment, she taught a marketing management course to executives of the Cubanacan Group in Havana (Cuba).
She has participated in several research projects, supervised various doctoral theses, master’s theses, and undergraduate final projects. She has published several books and book chapters, as well as numerous academic and popular articles, mainly on Marketing and Finance. She has also been vice president of the Spanish chapter of the Société Internationale pour l’Enseignement Commercial (SIEC) and a member of the Academic Council of the Marketing Club of Barcelona. She presides over the Seniors Commission of the College of Economists of Catalonia, is a member of the Economists Teaching and Research Commission of the same institution, and is also part of the Scientific Committee of the Euro-Asia International Research Seminar. She presided over the 25th Congress of the Spanish Association of Academic and Professional Marketing (AEMARK) and has attended numerous national and international conferences, participating with communications and presentations.
