CARLOS MALLO ÁLVAREZ

Agricultural Engineer from the Higher Technical School of the Polytechnic University of Madrid. MBA from the Instituto de Empresa in Madrid. Financial expert and entrepreneur. Multifaceted nature lover.
Throughout his professional career, he has worked and lived in Spain, the United Kingdom, Portugal, and Italy, as well as traveled to numerous countries, executing and investing in a wide variety of business situations, ranging from seed and growth operations in small and medium-sized companies to large leveraged buyouts.
He was one of the pioneers of the private equity industry in Spain in the 1990s. He began his career in the sector at 3i Group plc in its Manchester (United Kingdom) office in 1995 and significantly contributed to the sector’s early development through his positions as Investment Director (Madrid 1997 – 2000) and Head of the Barcelona Office (2000 – 2003).
He joined Permira in 2003 in London and, a few months later, went on to establish and lead the firm’s activities in Spain, opening the Madrid office in 2004. After a rapid progression, he was appointed member of the Executive Committee, the Investment Committee, and the Firm’s Board of Directors. Between 2008 and 2016, he was one of the Senior Partners leading the Firm at a global level, including the role of Head of Human Resources through his position as Chairman of the Remuneration and Promotions Committee.
He has been a Board Member in numerous companies, both publicly traded and private, including:
