  • Degree in Medicine (1985) from the University of Barcelona, awarded with the Extraordinary Degree Prize.
  • Doctor of Medicine (1999) from the University of Barcelona, recipient of the Extraordinary Doctorate Award.
  • Trained as an obstetrician and gynaecologist at the Hospital Clínic of Barcelona, where he has developed his entire professional career, reaching the highest academic and professional rank.

ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY

  • Professor of Gynaecology and Obstetrics and Head of the Department of Surgery and Medical-Surgical Specialties.
  • Head of Gynaecological Endocrinology and the Clinical Sexology Working Group, and Academic Coordinator at the Hospital Clínic of Barcelona.
  • Founder (1988) of the first Menopause Unit in a Catalan public hospital and the second in Spain.
  • Pioneer in surgical techniques for the reconstruction of Müllerian anomalies, establishing the centre as a national reference.
  • Promoter of minimally invasive surgery in gynaecology.
  • Director of the Master’s Degree in Clinical Sexology since 2016.
  • Creator of a Postgraduate Programme in Sexology and Sexual Education for non-medical professionals (2016).
  • Visiting Professor and appointed Free Professor at the University of Buenos Aires.

  • Author of more than 450 original papers and reviews in indexed national and international journals (70% in Q1–Q2, IF>575, h-index: 42).
