Around one hundred Academicians, family members, and friends of the Royal European Academy of Doctors (READ) took part in the traditional Christmas Dinner held by the institution on 18 December in the Salón Espuela of the Círculo Ecuestre de Barcelona, a customary venue for these gatherings. Guests enjoyed several specialties from the restaurant’s extensive menu and shared a lively conversation. The evening is one of the major social events of the season in Barcelona, as once again attested by the notable presence of prominent figures from all walks of life.

On behalf of the Royal Academy, the President of the Governing Board, Alfredo Rocafort, conveyed his Christmas greetings to those present and wished them a 2026 filled with personal and professional success, as well as with intense and enriching academic activity. The President highlighted the achievements of the year now coming to a close, underlined the institutional strength provided by the Fundación Pro Real Academia Europea de Doctores, and outlined future objectives. He also encouraged Academicians to become fully involved in academic life and to contribute new proposals in order to sustain and further enhance the current line of work.

In his review of the year, Rocafort expressed satisfaction with the consistency and consolidation of the Retos Vitales para una Nueva Era project, which has positioned the Royal Academy as a benchmark for multidisciplinary knowledge applied to contemporary challenges through the provision of scientific proposals and solutions. He also emphasized the intense agenda maintained by the Royal Corporation and its collaboration with universities, academies, institutions, and leading organizations in prominent national and international forums and activities.
