CAROL MORENO ATANASIO (Barcelona 1971)
Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Barcelona and Specialist Hematology and Hemotherapy since 2001. Doctor of Medicine and Surgery (Cum Laude) from the University of Barcelona and associate professor of medicine at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
She is a senior consultant in the Hematology service of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, and responsible for the clinical and translational program for chronic lymphocytic leukemia, a field in which she has published more than 80 articles in scientific journals and participated as an author in different books.
She is a member of the board of directors of the European Hematology Association, of the “International Workshop on Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia”, “European Research Initiative for Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia” and is secretary and co-founder of the Spanish hematogeriatrics group of the Spanish Society of Hematology and Hemotherapy.
Throughout her professional career, she has been invited as a lecturer at the most relevant national and international meetings of the specialty such as the European Bone Marrow Transplantation, International Workshop on Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia, European Hematology Association, Spanish Hematology and Hemotherapy Society, and American Society of Hematology. She has also participated as a member of the scientific committee of the European Hematology Association and directs European teaching courses for the training of hematologists in clinical research. She is a member of the editorial committee of the journal Leukemia and Lymphoma and a reviewer for journals such as Blood, Haematologica and Leukemia and Lymphoma. She is coordinator of the Research Committee of the Spanish Society of Hematology and Hemotherapy.
