Dr. ALEJANDRO PURSALS PUIG

Dr. Alejandro Pursals Puig received a degree in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Barcelona and a PhD in Economics from the Camilo José Cela University with mention of Cum Laude. He trained his postgraduate studies through business schools, EADA and IESE.

He has worked as a professor in the accounting department, specializing in costs, at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Barcelona for more than seven years.

His professional specialty has passed through responsibility in financial, management and corporate governance areas in companies in the hotel services sector, as well as, Vice President of Finance for more than seven years of Unibank, SA (financial entity in Panama). He is currently serving as corporate financial director of the multinational fishing Marpesca, SA, in the countries of Panama, Ecuador, United States and Spain.

He has participated in several conferences of the READ providing papers such as “The making of uncertain business decisions through the use of qualitative techniques” or “The Venezuelan migratory effect in Latin America.”

He has published specialized articles on costs: “Analysis and interpretation of deviations in the standard cost of the raw material through the use of fuzzy logic; a theoretical and conceptual approach ”and“ Deviations under the flexible budget model: an alternative model ”
