José Luis Salido, full academician and secretary of the Governing Board of the Royal European Academy of Doctors-Barcelona 1914 (RAED), attended on 22 November, representing the institution at the ceremony of the Carlos Ferrer Salat Awards and Medals of Honor that the Spanish employer’s office Promotion of the National Work awards annually to companies and personalities that have distinguished themselves in the defence of business values.
The event was chaired by Mariano Rajoy, president of the Spanish Government, and had as its main host the president of Promotion of the National Work, Joaquín Gay de Montellà. Among the personalities present were Juan Rosell, president of the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE); Isidro Fainé, full academician of the RAED and president of the La Caixa Foundation; the Government delegate in Catalonia, Enric Millo; the lieutenant of Mayor of the City council of Barcelona Gerardo Pisarello, and the president of the Popular Party of Catalonia, Xavier García Albiol.
The most emotional moment of the celebration was the reference to the delivery of the Medal of Honor of Promotion to Alfredo Molinas and the remembrance and delivery of the Medal of Honor of the entity in memoriam to Juan Antonio Samaranch, former president of the International Olympic Committee.
