Inaugural Session of the Course of the Academies of Catalonia

On November 12 at 12:00 p.m., the Inaugural Session of the Academic Year of the Academies of Catalonia that are part of the Interacademic Council of Catalonia will take place.

The first interacademic session of the Academies was held in 1931 with the participation of the Academies of Letters, Sciences and Arts, Medicine, and Fine Arts, with the attendance of the Institute of Catalan Studies and other institutions. Sessions continued in 1932, 1934, and ended in 1935. Later, in 2001, the Government of Catalonia created the Interacademic Council.

This joint session, nearly a century after its inception, will take place for the first time at the Palau de la Generalitat, at Pl. de Sant Jaume, 4, Barcelona, presided over by the Right Honorable Mr. Salvador Illa.

Additionally, for the first time and at the proposal of the Department of Justice, and in agreement with the Council, it will be part of the Week of the Academies, with a general program in which all of them will participate. The objective is to promote, in a cross-disciplinary manner, among all academics —and also among society— the important work they continue to carry out in the service of Catalonia.
