Brief CV of Dr. Julia Prats
Mª Julia Prats has a Doctor in Business Administration from the Graduate School of Business Administration of Harvard University, since June 2004. She obtained an MBA from the IESE Business School of the University of Navarra in June 1992. She has a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, with a mention in Industrial Organization, obtained in June 1989.
Her focus as an academic and researcher is on entrepreneurship, innovation and professional services companies. She has received several awards for her research, including the Kauffman Emerging Scholar and the McKinsey/SMS Best Conference Paper award. Recently, she has focused on corporate entrepreneurship and has published several articles in Harvard Business Review and MIT Sloan Management Review. Her background includes projects that study the challenges of large corporations, exploring the influence of organization and governance on economic results. She has published books and articles on topics related to entrepreneurship, leadership and management, more than sixty business cases, and reports focused on open innovation and corporate entrepreneurship.
She teaches courses on Entrepreneurship and innovation and growth strategies in various programs, including MBAs and International Executive Education. She has been a Visiting Professor at the Wharton Business School, IPADE (Mexico), INALDE (Colombia) and the University Asia Pacific (Philippines) among others.
Professor Prats regularly participates in consulting activities and is an advisor to several international firms. She holds several Advisory Board positions at technology-enabled professional services firms.
