- Architect (1966) by the Escola Tècnica Superior d’Arquitectura de Barcelona (ETSAB).
- PhD in Architecture (1976) by the ETSAB.
Academic Activity
- Full Professor of Architectural Design at ETSAB since 1979.
- Extraordinary Professor at the School of Architecture, University of Navarra.
- Has taught postgraduate courses in schools of architecture in Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Chile, Venezuela, Colombia, Bolivia and Ecuador.
- Vice-Rector for Cultural Programs at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) (1998–2002).
Scientific and Professional Work
- Founding member of the journal Arquitectura Bis.
- Author of more than 20 books on the theory and critique of modern architecture, including:
Historical Reflection on Modern Architecture (1980),
Architecture of the Neo-Avant-Garde (1984/1989),
Modern Architecture in Barcelona 1951-1976 (1996),
Basic Course in Design (1998),
The Essential Formalism of Modern Architecture (2008), and
Architecture of the Modern City (2010). - Author of numerous articles in national and international specialized journals.

- Since 2006, he has focused on architectural and urban projects from an academic and didactic perspective.
