The publisher RBA Libros has donated to the Library of the Royal European Academy of Doctors-Barcelona 1914 (RAED) the latest book by Edmund Phelps, Nobel prize in Economics and honorary academician elected of the RAED, “Mass Flourishing”. In this book, published in Spanish this May under the title “Una prosperidad inaudita”, Phelps analyzes the long period of massive economic prosperity in the nineteenth century, explains the reasons for the decline of that model and sets out the keys to re-incentivating it in the immediate future.

Doctor from Yale University, Phelps was awarded the Nobel prize for his analysis of international trade offs in macroeconomic policies. He is currently a professor at Columbia University, where he runs the Center on capitalism and society. The Nobel will enter the Academy during a solemn session to be held in Barcelona next Friday, May 19. On behalf of the RAED will receive him the full academician María José Esteban.
