Borja Corcóstegui, doctor in Medicine and Surgery, will be admitted as full academician of the Royal European Academy of Doctors-Barcelona 1914 (RAED) during a solemn session to be held in Barcelona on September 14, 2017. Co-founder and medical and scientific director of the Spanish Institute of Ocular Microsurgery and the European School of Advanced Studies in Ophthalmology, the new academician is a pioneer in the introduction and development of the vitrectomy in Europe and precursor in the union of clinical and genetic research of retina.
Corcóstegui will read the entry speech “La conquista del fondo del ojo” (The conquest of the back of the eye). On behalf of the RAED will answer the full academician Pedro Clarós.
