Grabriel Masfurroll is an entrepreneur with multiple angles: businessman, writer and philanthropist.
He has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Barcelona, a Master’s degree in Hospital Management from ESADE, the Global CEO Program from IESE, Wharton University of Pennsylvania, CEIBS (China Europe International Business School) and IES Sao Paulo; He also completed training at Mayo Clinic Foundation and Cleveland Clinic. He was founder of USP Hospitals, the first chain of private hospitals in southern Europe, and participated in three Health Expert Committees, one state and two regional ones. He is currently president of Grupo Clínicas Mi and founder of Mi Alex Foundation.
He began his professional career as an economist at the Hospital de Sant Pau, in Barcelona, and participated in the creation of the Catalan Down Syndrome Foundation. Gabriel chaired the Social Council of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) for 9 years, although his notoriety came as a Member of the Council and Vice President of FC Barcelona.
He is currently an Advisor and Board Member of several companies, including the Swedish companies Kreab Worldwide AB and EQT Capital Partners. In his professional career he has participated and continues to participate as a guest professor in institutions such as IESE, ESADE, IE, UAB, UCM, and foreign institutions that invite him to give lectures or classes. Mentor, advisor and investor in companies of young entrepreneurs, columnist in various media, he is the author of 5 books and has collaborated on more than 40. During his career Gabriel has received various recognitions, including Freeman of the city of London, Cavaliere Ordine della Stella della Solidarietà for the Italian Republic, the Creu de Sant Jordi of the Generalitat of Catalonia and the Civil Order in Health for the assistance of the USP network hospitals in Madrid in the attacks of March 11.
