XAVIER SANZ LATIESAS
Graduated in Medicine and Surgery in July 1992 from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and obtained a PhD in Biomedicine in February 2017 from Pompeu Fabra University with the thesis “Hypofractionated Irradiation Schemes in Breast Cancer Conservative Treatment.”
A specialist in Radiation Oncology since 1997, he has been working as an Assistant Physician in the Radiation Oncology Department at Hospital del Mar in Barcelona since 1999 and is the Deputy Coordinator of the Breast Pathology Unit.
He has completed training stays at the Claudius Regaud Hospital in Toulouse and the European Institute of Oncology in Milan.
Member of the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) and the Spanish Society of Radiation Oncology, and Secretary of the Spanish Group of Breast Radiation Oncology (GEORM).
He is the author of more than 50 articles in impact-factor journals, co-author of 5 books, reviewer for various international publications, and a member of the editorial board of the Revista de Senología of the Spanish Society of Senology and Breast Pathology (SESPM).
He has delivered more than 75 presentations at national and international congresses in his field.
He has been a professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of Pompeu Fabra University since 2010 and teaches in various Master’s programs at the University of Barcelona, the Autonomous University of Barcelona, and the Foundation for Mastological Studies (FEMA).
He is the Secretary of the Associació de Metges Cristians de Catalunya (Association of Christian Doctors of Catalonia) and a member of the medical team of the Hospitalitat de Lourdes de Barcelona (Lourdes Hospitality of Barcelona).
