MARC YESTE OLIVERAS has a degree in Biology from the University of Girona, a Doctor Europaeus cum laude in Cellular Biology, and a degree in Political Science and Sociology from the National University of Distance Education (extraordinary end-of-year award for the best academic record). He was a visiting researcher at the Institute of Zoology in London, a Juan de la Cierva researcher at the Department of Animal Medicine and Surgery of the Autonomous University of Barcelona, a Marie Curie researcher at the Nuffield Department of Women’s and Reproductive Health at the University of Oxford, and Ramón y Cajal researcher at the Department of Biology of the University of Girona. Currently, he is an ICREA Academia Researcher and professor in the Faculties of Medicine and Nursing of this university, as well as professor of the master’s degree in Clinical Embryology at the University of Oxford.

His research has focused on the biology of reproduction of different species of mammals, including humans. He has published more than 240 articles and 17 book chapters, and participated in more than 100 research projects and contracts with companies (IP in more than 40), some funded by the European Commission. He coordinates the consolidated UAB-UdG research group in reproductive biotechnology of the Generalitat of Catalonia. He has supervised 16 doctoral theses, and supervised eight postdoctoral researchers and 27 Master’s thesis.

He is Editor-in-Chief of Animal Reproduction Science, Senior Editor of Scientific Reports, and Associate Editor of BMC Biology, Reproduction, Fertility and Development, and Frontiers in Endocrinology. He is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, the Royal Society of Biology, and the Young Academy of Europe, of which he is also secretary.
