Domènec Melé is Professor Emeritus and holder of the Chair of Business Ethics at IESE Business School and retired Professor at the Polytechnic University of Valencia. He obtained a doctorate in Industrial Engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and another in Theology from the University of Navarra.
He is the author or co-author of 8 books and editor or co-editor of another 12. Among the first, Ética en Dirección de Empresas (2015), Fundamentos antropológicos de la dirección de empresas, with C. G. Cantón (2015), Business Ethics in Action. Managing Human Excellence in Organizations, 2nd ed. (2020), Ética en la empresa familiar, with M. A. Gallo (2nd ed. 2003) and The Humanistic Person-centered Company (Springer, May 2024). Among the published books, Human Development in Business, with C. Dierksmeier (2012), stands out. Also Humanism in Economics and Business (2015) and A Catholic Spirituality for Business. The Logic of Gift (2019), co-edited with M. Schlag. He has published more than 70 chapters in collective works and scientific articles in the Journal of Business Ethics, Business Ethics Quarterly, Business Ethics: A European Review, Business and Society Review, Philosophy of Management and Humanistic Management Journal. He has also published 20 case studies in IESE Publishing.
In 1991, he founded the IESE International Symposia of Ethics, Business and Society and has directed them for 18 editions. He is also co-founder of the Center for Business in Society at IESE. He belongs to several editorial committees of journals in his specialty and has been vice president of the European Business Ethics Network (EBEN) -Spain.
