Magnificent Rector of the International University of Catalonia (UIC Barcelona), and Professor of Audiovisual Communication and Advertising. At that university, he has previously been Dean of the Faculty of Communication Sciences (2015-2021) and Coordinator of the Doctoral Program in Communication and Humanities (2017-2021).

Bachelor and Doctor in Information Sciences, both titles with Extraordinary Award. He completed a Postgraduate Degree in “Production in Motion Pictures & Television” from the University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA). During his stay in Los Angeles, he worked as an intern at Harry Ziesmer’s production company, Francis Ford Coppola’s assistant director.

He has directed 26 Doctoral Theses and is currently directing another 6. He has been Visiting researcher at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (Israel – 2009), at the University of La Sabana (Bogotá, Colombia – 2010) and at the Catholic University of Milan (Italy – 2011). He has taught master’s and doctoral courses at a dozen Spanish and European universities. He is the author of 17 books and more than 160 scientific articles. His scientific production accumulates more than 1,800 citations in Google Scholar.

Among his books, it is worth highlighting: Consumer models in advertising (1996), Advertising, Communication and Marketing on the Internet (2002), New forms of advertising (2005), Falsehood and Communication (2007), Values in advertising (2010) , Advertising Theory (2013) and Advertising History (2013).

He is the founder and president of the UNESCO Association for the Promotion of Ethics in the Media.
