Distinguished career: Jurist and lawyer, author of more than two hundred publications, recognised for his contribution to administrative law and pan-Hispanic legal language, with contributions to the Diccionario Panhispánico del Español Jurídico and the Glosario Jurídico Hispanounidense.

JAVIER JUNCEDA is a jurist and author of more than two hundred publications. He is a Numerary Member of the Royal European Academy of Doctors, of the Royal Asturian Academy of Jurisprudence, and of the Royal Institute of Asturian Studies.

He is a Corresponding Member of the Royal Spanish Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation and of the North American Academy of the Spanish Language.

He is an Honorary Member of the Peruvian Academy of Law. He has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Law by six universities — among them San Marcos, the oldest university in the Americas — and is an Honorary Professor of another six. He has delivered lectures in Spain, the United States, Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, and Peru.

A regular columnist in the Spanish press, he combines legal practice in his own law firm with teaching law at universities in Madrid, Barcelona, and Oviedo, having served as dean at two of them. He has also taught at other centres of study, such as the Spanish Judicial School and various Bar Associations. He participated in the preparation of the Diccionario Panhispánico del Español Jurídico, sponsored by the Royal Spanish Academy, and directed the Glosario Jurídico Hispanounidense for the North American Academy. He chairs the Commission on Law, Economics and Social Sciences of the Royal Institute of Asturian Studies. Since 2016, he has been a member of the Commission on Urban Planning and Land Management of the Principality of Asturias. Since 2022, he has also been a member of the Advisory Council of the Spanish Association of Urban Planning Law.

Since 2024, he has coordinated the Administrative Law module of the Master’s Degree in Legal Practice and Court Representation at the University of Oviedo.
