- Member of the Royal Academy of Engineering (RAI) and the Royal National Academy of Pharmacy (RANF).
- Fellow of Biomaterials Science and Engineering (FBSE) and of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE).
- Pioneer in the field of mesoporous ceramic materials for biomedical applications. Her work was the first to demonstrate the potential of these materials in bone regeneration and controlled drug delivery systems.
