ABSTRACT
Phd. Onofre Martorell Cunill has served for the last 25 years as a university lecturer of Financial Economics at the University of the Balearic Islands. He acquired his Ph.D. with the thesis “The Hotel Chains. A model of Business Growth.” It was nominated for an Extraordinary Prize of the University of the Balearic Islands. It was awarded the best tourism research work by the Tribuna Jorge Vila Fradera (FITUR) and published by the Ariel Tourism Editorial, “Hotel Chains. Analysis of Top 10”, Barcelona, 2002.
His research activity incudes:
Two periods of 6 years of research (2005-2010 and 2011-2016) recognized by the Ministry of National Education. Retributive Supplement of Stimulus and Recognition of Research Excellence. Resolution of the General Director of University Policy and Higher Education on 13 February 2017 (2017-2022). Retributive Supplement of Stimulus and Recognition of the Investigative Activity. Order of the Social Council of the University of the Balearic Islands on 30 October 2008 (2008-2013). Retributive Supplement of Stimulus and Recognition of the Investigative Activity. More than 100 publications: 15 articles have been published in scientific journals indexed with a quality index, 6 books (two of which are international editions in English and Chinese), 1 book edition, 31 book chapters, 55 scientific contributions of papers at conferences. Also external referee of 5 journals indexed in 1Q JCR (International Journal of Hospitality Management, Tourism Management, Annals of Tourism Research, Cornell Hospitality Quarterly, and Journal of Business Research), and Member of the Editorial Board of the Tourism Economics journal (Sage Publication).
