Ignacio Buqueras<\/strong><\/a>, full academician of the Royal Academy of Doctors of Spain<\/strong><\/a>, honorary president of the Spanish Independent Foundation<\/strong><\/a> and full academician of the Royal European Academy of Doctors-Barcelona 1914<\/strong> (RAED), has been recognized with the Man who Supports the Women Award<\/strong>, granted by Women for Dialogue and Education<\/strong><\/a> entity within the framework of its 9th Solidarity Awards for Equality<\/strong>. The solemn delivery ceremony was held on October 25 at the Liria Palace in Madrid. The jury recognized “his insistence and his tenacity to put the focus on equal opportunities in institutions promoted by him as the Spanish Confederation of Organizations of Old People<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0or the Association for the Rationalization of Spanish Timetables<\/strong><\/a>“.<\/p>\n

The Solidarity Awards for Equality distinguish and pay tribute to “women, men, media, companies and institutions that, due to their personal, professional, business and human trajectories, have contributed to strengthening the figure of women in the world, in matters relating to equality, visibility, defense of their rights and conciliation, both in the cultural and socioeconomic field”, explains Women for Dialogue and Education, an organization that aims to unite the largest number of women’s associations in Spain.<\/p>\n

In this edition, along with Buqueras, Silvia Gil<\/strong>, commander of the Spanish Civil Guard<\/strong><\/a>, where she has been promoting equality policies for five years (Women that Change the World Award<\/strong>); the digital magazine “L\u00edderas”<\/strong>, founded in 2015 by Paloma Zancajo<\/strong> to offer a complete vision of women’s sport and to show with its information the salary, labor, communication and visibility gap regarding male competitions (Most Solidarity Media with the Women Award<\/strong>); the technological firm IBM<\/strong><\/a> for its work in supporting the effective equality of opportunities between women and men throughout its history (Business in Plural Feminine Award<\/strong>), and the National Cybersecurity Institute<\/strong><\/a>, an agency under the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Business<\/strong><\/a> which is based in Le\u00f3n for its support for women suffering from cyberbullying, impersonation of personality, revelation and dissemination of secrets, sexting and sextorsion or any type of digital gender violence (Institution most Committed to Women Award<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

The jury of these awards was led by the president of Women for Dialogue and Education, Giovanna G. de Calder\u00f3n<\/strong>, and formed by a vast majority of women from the main associations and organizations dedicated to the promotion and protection of women since the most diverse fields, in addition to recognized professionals from various fields.<\/p>\n
